RE: Honda eco throttle switch

I believe you have stated that throttle control works correctly except for the eco switch not raising the engine idle speed, suggesting that there's nothing wrong with the throttle motor or carb. With the inverter module being potted, any repair would be close to impossible. Certainly infeasible. I'd expect that the eco switch merely connects to pins on the computer chip inside the inverter module, as opposed to leading to some discrete component that could be replaced if it weren't for the potting. The good news is that it's high probability that the problem is in the switch, wiring, or a connector. That is correct. The wiring diagram shows both leads connecting directly to the inverter. I did not pop off the switch to check it. After a 15 hour day I was ready to just get on the road to get home.

Honda eco throttle switch

Anyone familiar with how the eco throttle off switch works. Background, not mine but one I use at events. Runs some timing equipment that includes a laser printer and a couple computers. One of the computers (kiosk) is a regular all in one with no battery like a laptop. So when I print something the laser printer spikes the power demand and before the generator can kick up the kiosk powers down from the power interruption. In the past I would simply turn off the eco throttle before printing, problem solved. This weekend the switch would not work. It will go to high (non eco) when the invertor commands it but you cannot manually turn it off via the switch. I found a wiring schematic and the switch goes directly to the invertor. So short of a broken wire any ideas to repair? I might just pick up a cheap UPC backup for the kiosk. Probably cheaper than a trip for maintenance on the generator.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

Going to take a LOT of electricity to charge those trucks. Look at CA with their blackouts. Batteries don't charge so well during blackouts.Ever try to fill with petrol during an outage? Yes, the gas stations use generators. Speaking of which... That is something to plan for, if you have a home generator or are thinking of getting one (seems like everyone in Connecticut the last few years has gotten home generators). Make sure it can safely charge everything (including a car if you have an electric) safely. If you have solar, you should be okay once the storm passes, IF you have a solar system that your house can use. Some of those solar panel lease programs don't actually let you use the power directly, it goes into the grid -- which may be knocked out. I believe if you are grid tied and no battery bank. You are SOL in a power outage with solar. It will be deactivated. I remember this discussion awhile ago about the blackouts on perfectly sunny days and those with solar had zero advantage.

RE: 2019+ RAM HD with failed CP4-2 IP to get CP3's

Chrysler has nothing to do with your trailer being towed. Best is to schedule both tows yourself and get reimbursed. So all you got out of that story is schedule your own towing? Sorry to only comment on what I have an opinion about and what business is it of yours what I say??? Sensitive? I was doing the same. Do we have different rules?

RE: Map App for Phone...?

How did we get to the local grocery store before GPS? The same way we do now. Drive there. But when traveling to places unknown or unfamiliar far easier than paper maps that can be outdated and cannot identify road closures, detours, construction, etc.

RE: 50 AMP Tents

When you’re talking about public campgrounds (city, state, federal) “efficient use” of the available sites probably isn’t the top priority for filling them. I would be willing to bet that at the vast majority of PUBLIC campgrounds, the policy I pointed to on the Tennessee state park website is more the norm than restricting 50 amp sites to 50 amp rigs. Why? Because they’re public, and they should be available to anyone willing to pay the fee, in the order they arrive or make their reservation. :):) We know all that, but it still is a shame that resources are wasted. A little bit of common decency would be a good thing. But what resource is wasted and by whom? It's not the campsite. Not the parks revenue. Not the enjoyment of the outdoors. Energy and fossil fuels, I guess you could make the argument the tenter is saving resources.

RE: Next Gen Raptor to have more power than Ram TRX

Well, the Hellcat Redeye is 797 HP. And the 6.2 in the Demon is 840 HP. So FCA is already well positioned to respond if needed. I love competition. Hard to believe that 707 HP might not be "enough". :) There must be practical limits based on intended use. What is the reason they used the old tune and not the current model hellcat tune? The power limits and tune is based on fuel used. I believe the 840hp is with 100 octane race fuel. The 797 hp is with premium 93 octane fuel. Keeping it within emissions regulations is probably a huge limiting factor as well. I am referring to the new Hellcats with the 717 tune on everyday premium.

RE: Microsoft Outlook

Outlook is an email client. Can you explain a bit why you need that? And why you're hanging on to old software? Easy to use easier to read than in a web browser can use offline I prefer the format and familiarity can set up multiple addresses and review in all one program That is just a few reasons of the top of my head why I use outlook.

RE: 50 AMP Tents

You have to reserve the sites in many and now most cases. They reserve them as RVs and of course are tenters. I'm not sure how the parks deal with them in Corps. Tn state parks, that I'm aware of don't allow such shennigans..RVers deserve equal treatment...and RV site are for RVs. This is confusing. Equal treatment? They have equal treatment. They can reserve or select that site like everyone else. Who do you propose is the arbiter of deserving? Pop-ups. They can clearly fit in a tent site. 50 amp RV's with one AC. They don't need the extra capacity. What about those with two AC's but only use fans. Do you really want to go down that road of who is more deserving. Or is it easier to leave it as it is. Where everyone currently DOES have equal treatment. Life is not like Charlie where you deserve it because you want it more.

RE: Hellcat Powered 2021 Ram 1500 TRX debut

Just because you can't afford something or don't think it is worth the price tag does not mean it is "woo-woo" or that someone else can. It just means the person saying it probably has sour grapes syndrome when they scorn things they cannot have. Very true. And, we are on a forum dedicated to "camping" with items that far exceed the price of a sleeping bag. A pretty first world problem juggling living in one house and going on vacation in another mobile abode with all the comforts some cultures can only dream of having.

RE: Electric vehicle mandate in California

I can't imagine why red is illegal in a generator. Yes if you get mandated into an EV you may need to buy another generator. It depends on the state. Some do, some don't. I live in Texas where there are not a lot of progressives that like to use law to force their ideology down other peoples throat regardless if they can afford it or not. Well, it happens in some of the cities like Austin, but it is not state wide. Also, our pollution is not as bad as southern California since we have more land and less people. BEV's is not the best for everything just like ICE is not the best for everything. You need both since they have their pros/cons and especially so if the carbon to fuel technology becomes more prevalent to pay for reducing the carbon that is already in the air. However, the progressives are just too narcissistic to realize that and believe their idea of forcing BEV's on everyone is the only way. That's is a serious messed up regulation if you cannot use off road fuel in all off road equipment in Texas.

RE: Poor Tire Install

That is a weird policy. Did they really save any time messing around with a tube plus the additional cost to them. Almost seems like they are covering their tracks for a improper install stating it was policy.

RE: 50 AMP Tents

There are numerous 30 AMP sites available, I just thought that it was a shame that others are denied the precious few 50 AMP sites that probably were reserved on the first day allowed. I need to brush up on the “it’s all about me” thing. You're saying because someone spent more money on their camping equipment they deserve a 50a site more than a tenter? Yes, that is the "all about me" mindset. I was thinking the same thing. Would they feel the same shame if the 50 amp sites were full of high dollar class A's? Would they be pondering the plight of those with even bigger class A's deprived of those spots. Funny how some can wrap their minds up in knots just trying to keep everyone in neat class buckets and attributing what they are allowed to do or enjoy based on that class. Would the same attitude or inquisitive thoughts hold true in a rustic campground that had rv's in addition to tents. Why are those RV's taking up space so clearly the domain of tents.

RE: Electric vehicle mandate in California

California has a mandate for electric vehicles in the future. Just read with the extreme heat PG&E will have rolling blackouts because of power shortage. Noticed this in previous years as well. Do you think requiring electric vehicles is putting the cart before the horse in not having a updated power grid to handle the increased demand of charging electric vehicles? I think mandating any type of technology is dangerous. It stifles development of competing and perhaps better technologies. Requiring a maximum emission output is one thing. Stating how you "must" get there seems illogical. I disagree as anything that can be cheaper, more available and a better mouse trap will always float to the top of consumer desires. You are correct. Adding a layer like changing a law is not a material obstacle.
