RE: Jack Switch?

I was hoping switch, as it's easier to repair. But, also thought short which is sometimes more difficult ... now betting that's it, unfortunately. Out comes the 'short light' :(

Jack Switch?

2008 Lance 845, has a on-off button for activating jack remote. Push rocker switch, it lights up then shuts off. If I hold the button in for a few seconds it stays lit, but when I release it, shuts off. If I hold it in AND push the operate jacks buttons on remote at the same time, once the jack begins down or up, the light stays lit, and will remain working properly for the duration of up or down. After turning rocker switch off manually - that same cycle start over. Hold it in, it works, release rocker, it goes dark and won't operate. Battery up, happens with truck running or not running same way. Have no power in storage, so can't check with 110v. I'm thinking new switch, but not certain. Anyone advise?? Thanks M44

RE: Solution to Trash Left Behind!

If they know where to send the trash, why don’t they just send them a bill for disposing it? :):) Right, send a fine with the trash package. Double if not paid in a month. Triple it if not paid in two months. AND ban from campsites for a year. If it doesn't hurt, people like that don't care and won't learn.

RE: Used TC: does it have a lien?

I don't know of any states that require a plate, and have never known or seen a TC plate on a TC ... but was not exactly looking either. Been in nearly every state camping numerous times, and many states pretty often. Oregon does, bottom of page 2: There, now you’ve heard of one. ;) p.s. Since this is on the west coast, it’s just called a ‘camper’ as opposed to those travel trailers some call campers. :p Thanks, just never known of one, not that I checked every state - yes, absolutely, Formerly California kid here - and been all over the country for many years in my Truck Camper, AKA camper on the west coast. :) :) And yup, been to Oregon too, got family in Forest Grove.

RE: Iphone vs separate hotspot box

We each have phone hotspot, one T-Mobile, one Verizon. Very seldom do we have no signal on either one. Occasionally, we might have one not, and one works. Last trip out cross-country, we only missed a signal when camping in very outlying areas, and then we both had no signal. I think phone hotspot and separate WIFI unit will get same signal if from same company. Before smart phones, we had separate unit, then one phone and one WIFI unit, and we saw almost no different between the two.

RE: Shearing the sheep

AND, remember too, interest eats most of the payment at the beginning, and depreciation eats the re-sale value pretty quickly on new vehicles. Down payment plus first year of mostly interest, then you have the auction value breaking about even on the repossession after what you paid out. The dealer gets paid, the finance company gets paid, and the buyer hold an empty hand when all is said and done. Not a good time to buy new, or even an over-priced used. Occasionally take a quick peek at Truck Campers now, and see the monster prices. Amazing, fifty grand for ten x eight feet of camper. YIKES!

RE: What to make of this......

Thinking this thru a bit - I'm betting the trainer was watching the dog to make sure it stayed on point a specific time-frame. Having said that and if true, there is NO reason trainer did not inform the person assisting. So, that still comes down to trainer not trained well. Yeah, I'd be gone in one heartbeat, or less.

RE: What to make of this......

Sounds like the dog trainer needed training more than the dog.

RE: Used TC: does it have a lien?

Hey burbman, are we talking just a title here, or an actual plate. Does anyone know ?? Title and Plate are two different documents. Plate is registration, Title is ownership. Plate would probably require renewal fees every year, but title is one time document, requires sales tax in those states that have it. I don't know of any states that require a plate, and have never known or seen a TC plate on a TC ... but was not exactly looking either. Been in nearly every state camping numerous times, and many states pretty often. Have heard a few times truck plate must be visible, and our Lance covers our truck plate. Have been camping in TC since 2002, and never been stopped or asked for registration for truck when plate is not visible. Have heard some campers move the truck plate to the TC so it's visible? I've never done it tho.

RE: Personal property ins.

Just while we're on this topic, any of you with expensive computer set-ups might ask your agent as well. And photography equipment. Some of that electronic gear gets quite expensive, and if it's excluded, you should be aware even if you choose not to 'rider it'...

RE: Upgrading to a better phone

Bought this one a few months ago - Like it a lot, you can also go to phone store and get a discount sometimes, and they will hook you up. We have two lines, and T-mobile unlimited text, phone, and hotspot for $69 if you are a senior. Other plans available - and no contract.

RE: banks

Just make 'em little beds, and hook up an IV, and let their butts hang over the end ... harvest boneless chicken in two months.

At first, it only means someone got sick from something, doesn't mean the test vaccine caused it. That answer comes later.

Wire gauge on Lance Camper

Lance has the proprietary Lance connector cable - anyone know the wire gauge inside that cable. I believe the charging wire is 8g, what about the others, turn signal, running, brake, etc. I'm asking inside the cable, not inside the camper :) Thx M44

RE: Is a Gas 3/4 Truck and Pop-up Camper Safe in Colorado?

We drive a Gas 6.0L 2015 Chevy 4x4, with Lance at about 2900 lbs plus gear. We've driven all over the Rockies several times over the years -- never have a problem. Drops a little speed climbing hills, but not enough to care about. Before that, a 6.0L Gas 2003 GMC 4x4, same camper, no issues with it over the years - and lots of trips in the Rockies. IF I ever buy another truck for camping, I'd still go with a gas engine again. Good shocks and HD tires make a difference, we run Bilstein's and BFG 285 'E' tires.

RE: Poor workmanship -- Entry Level VS Higher Price ????

Just because a company pays more does not necessarily mean the quality improves.

RE: Carbon Monoxide/Propane Alarm - Propane Leak?

I had one go bad after only 18 months, so failure is a possibility. They also can go off when the 12v supply is low. ^^^^ this one - check low battery first.

RE: Camping with no reservations

New England, no worries, we're heading to the central west states, UTAH, CO, Wy, Dakotas. Open air and lots of non-resort type CG. We like NF, NP, St Pk, COE, as first choice. Sometimes an off-beaten-track private ... which are usually quite different and interesting folks.
