RE: Up sized my W.D. Bars

I've got 1200 lb bars on my Equalizer and have been happy with the towing experience with my rig - ORV 20FQ and 2014 F150. My tongue weight was 1150 lbs last time I weighed loaded for a long trip. I had originally intended to order the 1k bars when we bought the trailer but ordered the 1200lb by mistake. That mistake probably saved me 500 smackers. I guess the universe had to even out, somehow. These ORVs are tongue heavy, ain't they?

RE: Sway Problem / Need Help

I used an Andersen with our former TT with a 600lb tongue weight and it worked great. Our new TT has an 1100lb TW and the Andersen couldn't transfer enough weight so got an Equalizer with 1200lb bars and it is perfect, both for sway and weight transfer. I would guess 1200lb bars would be what you need.

RE: Solar Questions

I have a 120 watt portable panel. The most I have ever gotten from it in one day is 40 a/hrs, and that was by repositioning it about 20 times late in the day just to see by how much I could break my old record of 28 a/hrs. 15-20 with no repositioning is more typical.

RE: DIY battery cable supplier

Mex, glad to see you are back! Things have been rather boring and quiet around hear while you were absent.. I’ll second that!

RE: Lithium Charging Article...

RE: 3.5 EB Engine Braking?

6 speed eco here. I manually downshift and let it scream. I like to be in control of the gears. The engine can handle high RPMs, I've never heard of one failing due to that.

RE: Planning on pulling Cottonwood Pass Colorado

Thanks. Paved is good! Looks like beautiful country on the satellite view. We may be boondocking north of the reservoir mid September. Will it be crowded with elk bow hunters? Bow hunting season is for almost all of September, muzzle loading is for 9 days about in the middle. Thanks. My wife and I fish and I never worry about bow hunters, but I try to be scarce during firearms seasons.

Planning on pulling Cottonwood Pass Colorado

Planning a September 2020 trip around Colorado and looking for insight on towing our TT west to east over Cottonwood Pass between Taylor Park Reservoir and Buena Vista. Fairly experienced mountain travelers with a good rig - F150 Ecoboost and 6500lb 25 ft TT. Any tips from those who have traveled this pass is appreciated.

RE: Xantrex Truecharge2 Reliability?

I have a 2010 Xantrex TC2 20 amper that has worked well for me. I cut the ends off an old all copper jumper cable and have used it to charge my scrubber battery, but where it really shines is its equalization cycle. It's very effective.

RE: MaxxFan (Smoke with Remote Control) Best For Ventilation?

Our Maxxair fan with remote is mounted over the bed. I run it at 10% speed and exhaust at night even when it's cold out to keep moisture at bay while sleeping. Works great!
