Asking the cooks! I need new microwave.....

Had our Rv for 11 yrs and the micro finally gave out. We bought it used and the 'convection' never worked for me. Now looking at new ones, am wondering if it's worth having a convection/air crisper model? We do not have an oven in Rv, and wouldn't mind paying more if this can give me some oven type cooking. Thank you.

RE: Las Vegas to Grand Teton soon..

Not related to any lodging or activities. Job is for maintenance and still on to report May 15 at Colter Bay. 'Heard' Visitor Center is not opening. The employee dorms mean 2/3 per room and a hallway shared shower room. Don't know how they can have a lot of employees this summer?

RE: Las Vegas to Grand Teton soon..

Take US 93 out of North Las Vegas to Twin Falls, ID, then I-84 and I-86 to I-15 at Pocatello,ID. to Idaho Falls, then thru to Victor, to Alpine Jct. to Jackson Hole, WY. Miss Utah altogether! But the Utes have backed off on what they were originally trying to do. Still forming route, but why not take 15 out of Las Vegas instead of 93?

RE: Places near Vegas Or Needles Ca ?

We are at TT in Henderson, Nv. We pass Sams Town and Boulder City casino on way to store. All those types of parking lots are closed off with barricades. Went to Lake Mead entrance to check out possible boondock area, and that was closed too.. Luckily our TT has let us stay longer. We are full time, no house. Had jobs at YNP last summer and have 1 (?) for this summer, so far.... We are looking at alternatives just in case tho... Don't know if we can help further, but ask if you need...

RE: Should/will Glacier, Teton and Yellowstone open?

Good point and figured along same lines. Worked under Grand Teton Lodge Co last year at Colter Bay. They are under the parent company Vail Resorts which closed all the ski resorts and had employees to deal with in town and in housing.

RE: Should/will Glacier, Teton and Yellowstone open?

For Glacier National Park, hopefully some good news. My twin step-daughters are both working at Glacier at Lake McDonald Lodge this season, and both got an email today (04.03.20) telling them that all previous plans for opening are still under way and they should plan on arrival for the scheduled May opening. IIRC, they are supposed to be there in late April. Great news! Are they working for a big company like Delaware North, Zanterra etc or ? Are they higher up the chain and regarded as necessary? Curious what positions a are still being told to come! Thanks.

RE: Should/will Glacier, Teton and Yellowstone open?

Having worked at Yellowstone and Grand Tetons in the last couple of years, boy, there are no easy answers. I am just making comment...those parks employ a TON of foreign students on visas! I would think all those summer visas have been cancelled. Can the park concessionaires fill all those positions from new sources?

RE: Death Valley questions

We stayed 2months ago at a place called The Slabs. It was an old site for workers now abandoned but now used for boondocking. Cement pads all still there and big enough for our 40' Rv. Southern entrance and only a few miles into a visitor center.

RE: Who's the shortsighted one here

I took the OP comment as a 'hmmmm' type comment not complaining so I will respond as such. It may not have dawned on this business as they may be younger /inexperienced mgr/owner. At retail malls where I worked, we always had to park down the lane a bit. My chiro Dr is younger. She enters the room and does say hello, how are you? But is walking to the computer where she promptly turns her back to me the whole time she enters my new info...
