RE: 5th wheel & Half-ton TV Thoughts

I had an '04 F150 with all the towing options and pulled an 8,000lb Cougar FW. Pull-Rite made an excellent auto slider for that particular short-bed truck. Never had any issues towing on I95, mostly VA to FL. We never made any trips in the mountains so I can't say it would have been okay there.

RE: Truck tires

I've been disappointed the few times I strayed from Michelin.

RE: Short bed truck missing back window

I don't know what's worse, not having a slider or forgetting to use it. Anyway, I'm on my second auto slider because I know I'd forget to manually use one.

RE: Samsung Residential Fridge

Well, this is a mystery. We've been using just the fridge portion until we can fix or replace the unit. I opened it yesterday morning and its a miracle, the freezer is at -2. Same today. So, I guess if one procrastinates long enough, some things will self heal.

RE: Tire pressures

First thing I would question is running max tire pressure on MH.
I would weigh the rig, get the tire inflation chart from tire manufacturer, inflate to around five pounds more than shown on chart.
I would lay odds that pressure would be lower than max pressure on sidewall.
I would not adjust tire pressure once proper inflation is achieved.
This is the best advice.

RE: Samsung Residential Fridge

Do you know what year your Samsung is?
RV is 2016 so fridge is probably 2015-2016.

RE: Fifth wheel length question

We have a 40' and we've been too big a handful of times. Some National and State parks do have some tight spots. Sounds like you'd be okay in up to 36'.

Samsung Residential Fridge

Figured I'd ask here first. Have the Samsung RF18HFENBSR fridge. The freezer stopped freezing, stays about the same temp as the fridge part. I have to reset the "eyebrow" panel daily. Anyone have any reference material or ideas on what to look at first? The "manual" it came with is worthless. I'll call in a repair if I get desperate.

RE: Empty parks with no open sites.

Don't know about the OP's particular circumstances, but I've been told in FL state parks, and in retail parks, once the reservation is made they cannot book someone else in it. I've seen sites empty for a week at a time, yet the park shows no vacancy. It's very frustrating.

RE: Do you unhook for the night?

If I'm on a level site for an overnight stay, Walmart or CG, I try not to unhook. I select manual, put the front jacks down to ground, then put down the rears, all without attempting to get perfectly level.

RE: E vs. D rated trailer tires

It probably won't ride harder if you adjust your psi downwards, based on your actual weight, and using the tire mfgrs. load table. And, congrats on getting 5 years on Trailer Kings, most fail well before then.
