RE: Towing capacity

You're probably getting close to max on the truck, but you need to know the actual hitch weight before you can be sure.

Nothing works. Let me say again, NOTHING WORKS! That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Sailun Recall

Found this at NHTSA site, looks like Sailun has recognized its problem:
NHTSA Recall No. 21T018
"Sailun Tire Americas, Inc. (Sailun) is recalling certain Sailun, RoadX, Blacklion, Blackhawk, and Ironhead brand tires, sizes ST235/80R16 and ST235/85R16 with DOT codes 2020 through 4120. Due to a manufacturing issue, the tires may experience a belt separation. Belt separation could lead to loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. Sailun will replace the tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in December 2021. Owners may contact Sailun customer service at 1-844-281-9696."

RE: More garbage that'll get us ALL banned from National Forests

One bad guy should not ruin it for everyone. And, the people in charge should have been on top of it from the get go.

RE: Replacement for broken cover

If it's not a toe stubber or trip hazard, I'd remove it.

RE: Class A quality

I'm of the opinion that most, if not all, RVs are poorly designed and poorly built. I've had issues, some serious, with everything from a pop-up, Class As and Cs, and now the FW. OTOH, if they were built to better standards, I couldn't afford them.

RE: Tow Dolly Woe

I would think/hope any trailer shop that sells boat trailers would be able to service a tow dolly.

RE: Changing a tire yourself

If I was desperate to get off the roadside I could change a tire if necessary. OTOH, I'd wait for road service if the turnaround time was reasonable. The two times I've used my GEICO road service was for the tow vehicle and the longest wait was two hours.

RE: I need help removing my broken water heater drain plug

Go to the hardware store and buy a "sprinkler riser removal tool." I have removed several with one of these, works perfect.

Excellent suggestion! If that doesn't work, melting it out might work, and I wouldn't worry about any getting inside.

RE: Question about tires..smell? Temp?

Nothing to be concerned about IMHO, but you should invest in an infrared temp gauge. My rears will always show higher temps when pulling my fiver.

RE: 2021 No Bo 19.5 bent axle

The No Bo 19.5 has full sized tires, and a curb weight of around 3500 lb + another 1300 pounds of carrying capacity, and it was NOT heavily loaded- no fresh, grey, or black water- just food and clothes for a week.
Doesn't matter if the axle was barely adequate from the factory. Regardless, if it's damaged and affecting a tire, it needs to be replaced and/or upgraded.

RE: Which old motorhome to buy

Newmar and Foretravel come to mind. Also know there are some snooty campgrounds that don't like converted school busses, no matter how good they've been done.
