RE: Actual observations

We wisely left Saltillo headed for Laredo at 3:30AM and passed tens of thousands of trucks parked along the road waiting for sunrise. Nice write up. I love my travels around Mexico too. I have to disagree with the above quote. Wisely?? I think "Lucky" is a more appropriate word. There is a reason all the truckers get off that route at night and it is not to sleep.

RE: Semana Santa

Why would you expect to see a bunch of gringos during a very Mexican vacation period? Sure you would see a bunch of Spring breakers in places like Cancun or PV but not in places like Zihua, Morelia, Chapala.

RE: Semana Santa

Surprising how much SUVs run these days. A new Durango? The next one will have to be used :) We're on the lookout! SLDS I am not sure what kind of tow vehicle you are looking. These guys have a large variety of diesel trucks with an ever changing inventory. I bought my dually from them. They are good honest used car salesman:) https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063697717254

RE: Semana Santa

I am in Gringolandia (Lake Chapala). Lakeside is packed full of tourists. On Good Friday, the hot springs in San Juan Cosala were full, most restaurants were full, the Malecon in Jocotepec was almost overflowing yesterday with people. Traffic is backed up for miles to pass thru Ajijic (nice having a moto). It is going to be a great weekend for tourist based businesses Lakeside.

RE: TIP when permanente

I looked into this years ago. Here is where the loophole might close. You are a permanent resident of Mexico not a resident abroad. When you have an accident, what would your insurance company look at when you file the claim? That said, in 20 years living in MX I personally know of only one vehicle taken for an expired TIP. It was a camper van at Cancun airport a decade ago. I say go for it. 99% chance you will have no issue. The 1% can be taken care of with a little cash

RE: Buy RV in USA & drive it down? Or after I arrive in Mexico?

Riley, I would never use FB to find a unit in the US or Canada but the op was looking in Mexico. Facebook Marketplace is the go to place for everything. More listings than Craigslist. Why wouldn't you use it?

RE: TIP ONLINE

Make sure to include the Q-code on the printout. That is how officials will verify your TIP

RE: Temporary Visitor's Pass - Guadalajara

I have heard that the implementation of this program has been postponed until there are enough emission verification centers.

Here are some facebook groups with RV's for sale. Most are Mexican plated. https://www.facebook.com/groups/132052267129352 https://www.facebook.com/groups/714223215370347 https://www.facebook.com/groups/201970021127352 https://www.facebook.com/groups/243920450620826 Happy hunting

RE: Google Maps Toll Prices

I just saw that and updated my app. Where do you see toll prices? I am going to be leaving Zihua and heading to Playa in the next couple of days. I would like to try it and see if it is accurate.
