RE: A tale of two trailers, or prices are thru the roof.

Interesting result. Thanks.

RE: Mask use in Mexico Right Now-It's IMPORTANT!

I'm happy to cooperate by staying out of Mexico. It doesn't sound like I'd enjoy it there with things being that way.

RE: What now??

May time and love soothe your hurt. Until then, know that it is totally normal and natural to grieve.

RE: At least I was honest

I wonder what percentage of RV purchasers are influenced (at least partly) by the thought that it would make a good bug-out tool in case the SHTF?

RE: Newsom signs bill to ban the sell of gas powered generators

I happen to like my battery-powered weed whacker/edge trimmer and my Toro battery-powered self-propelled mower. I bought them because they're quieter and because they don't put out fumes that make my nose run and sneeze. Also I don't have to change the oil in this mower, ever. Based on my current electricity cost, I figure I'm saving about $80/year versus gasoline. I like my corded electric leaf blower, too, for the rare occasions when I need one; no worries about a clogged carb after it sits for 10 months. That said, I highly value the ability and right to make my own choice based on all the info and variables. I'd rather not have some small group of people mandate my choice and take the decision away from me. Perhaps more people should read Henry David Thoreau's Civil Disobedience. Since California will have this law, perhaps generator rental places will spring up just across the state line. A new business model, perhaps? Campers can pick up their genny on the way out to their camping destination, and drop it off on the way home, for $50/day plus a hefty deposit. :) Come to think of it, if sales but not rentals are banned within the state, it would be easy enough for the usual shops in CA to "rent" a genny for a deposit sum equal to the normal for-sale price, with the understanding that if the renter never returned the unit, ;) ;) nothing will happen. :B

RE: New motor home blues…

It is not yet 2022, so maybe your MH thinks it doesn't need to work until Jan. 1? ;) If you need a new hose, farm supply places are sometimes equipped to make a hydraulic hose with the proper length, diameter, and fittings.

RE: Trip to Colorado from Minnesota

A trip to CO a "few weeks" from now means you'll be driving in the lower plains east of the mountains, as others have said. You'll be able to see some snowy peaks, most likely. It's not the same as being in the mountains, but it should be pretty.

RE: Request Prayers

I have prayed for both of you. May your health and well-being be restored. Unless your wife has been incapacitated mentally by the fall, IMO respect her wishes. Hospitals are not without their risks. An adult should be free to decide what level of care she will have, barring incapacity of course. Making one's own decisions and having autonomy contributes greatly to an adult's quality of life, and quality of life generally trumps quantity (for example, who wouldn't prefer 1 year of freedom over 20 in the slammer?).

RE: simple laptop solution for RV travel

Chromebooks (and the other brands who offer similar) have no hard drive and use online "cloud" storage of all files. If that's ok for you, fine. I prefer having a hard drive to store my photos, documents and such on my own computer. Last November (around Nov. 10) I spotted an early black friday deal at Walmart for a Lenovo Ideapad 3 laptop for $149, so I grabbed one. It's basic with not a lot of memory, but it does fine for me. I even challenged myself by making it a dual boot system with Linux Mint on a USB thumb drive, just to see if I could.

RE: Looking into getting first TT

Previous posters are correct. If you want a 3 row SUV, get a popup trailer (sleeps 6 easily enough) or a hybrid (pop-out bunks). Keep in mind that the goal is to get out there and enjoy the outdoors together as a family; anything that enables you to do that will let you build the memories. Even a whopping big tent will do that. Think of whatever you pick out as, primarily, a bedroom on wheels. If you're looking for a complete house away from home, you are likely to be disappointed no matter what you buy, because (1) the quality isn't there and (2) it's going to be crowded as heck inside that trailer.

RE: Oregon to charge 25% more for out of state RV campers

I would love for Wisconsin to start charging more for out of state campers. I don't think it would deter any of them from coming here. Raise out of state 25% and leave resident fees the same. Half of the time we go into the parks near us on the weekend, we can't get a parking spot because the park is full of Illinois people. Raise their fees for entrance and camping. Use the extra money to build more campgrounds. :E Raise WI state park rates for out of staters? I already avoid WI state parks; between the entrance fee and the camping fee, it's too high for me as it is. When I camp in WI it's at an inexpensive spot, like a municipal CG. Last time I visited a WI state park (Peninsula), I parked outside the entrance and bicycled through the gate for free. ;)

RE: 12 volt DC Kuerig Mini

It's a nice feeling when you can take a malfunctioning appliance and convert it to usefulness again. Good for you! But, yep, 50 ways coming up next... ;) Folks love talking about their coffee brewing methods almost as much as they love drinking it. You'd think it was beer or something... :D

RE: Little Guy Xtreme mini max tour

For a single traveler it might be possible to leave a bed made up in the very back and still retain a dinette sitting area just forward of it. I can hardly imagine a couple using this, though. Unless they are honeymooning, perhaps? ;)

RE: Frustrating !!!

Yep, once it is out of your hands, it's best to forget about it and let the new owners do what they will. Because they will do whatever they have a mind to do and nothing you say or do will change them. I frequently contemplate buying a steel cargo trailer with no roof vent and no rear door, and building it out as a TT. I could have a vent on the rear wall and a mini split A/C. Order the trailer with some steel attachment points welded to the roof, and mount solar panels up there without having to puncture the roof.

RE: Help buying a small travel trailer

Have you looked at Taylor Coach? They'll build custom (but you'd have to wait for it) and their units are relatively light weight.
