RE: Tow bar and Braking Assembly

I used a NSA Ready Brute Elite to tow my Malibu Maxx and Chevy Captiva. Worked well for many years. Sold to new owners of my MH. Used it with Demco base plate on Malibu and Blue OX on Captiva. Install them myself.

RE: Wind noise E-450

I put Airtabs on my MH. Worked very well at rear and under cab over. Putting them on the cab over took away a lot of noise from trapped between cab over and chassis cab. The ones I added to rear sides helped stability when getting passed on the highway. Did not see any fuel economy savings. Here is a old thread on the subject.

RE: Well, it's over

Prayers and good wishes for your wife and you. My wife of 58 years passed last year. Spent 12 years traveling with our MH.. Sold MH in 2017 because of her heath and mine. I have mostly recovered. The great trips and friends we met during those years have left me with good memories and friends. I am still active in a several RV forums. Helps to fill in those times when memories are not enough.

RE: ScanGauge vs UltraGauge

I have had both. Scan Gauge II is best. I used 2 of them at same time. Displayed 8 different bits of data at one time.

RE: Climbing steep grades...

I would add a scangauge. I was looking at those and I don’t see that the ScanGaugeII monitors transmission temps. The one for truckers does, but the standard one does not. Yes it does. Some settings have to loaded using X Gauge input.

RE: Final accounting, 14 years with a Super C

Good report. My numbers are similar to yours. Except was closer to 90k miles in 11 years. Averages mileage was 9.8 over those miles. Tried to hold 62 mph. No storage cost. Have a RV pad at my home. I burnt all the papers last year while cleaning house. Never had a repair to the Kodiak chassis. Over the 11 years had to buy 2 sets of tires. Little over $5k. I do not see any Super C's like ones built on the Kodiak Chassis on the market today. Similar ones on the Freightliner Chassis are prices over $200k. Good luck with your sale. Mine was on the market 3 days.

RE: Trouble With RV.net Am I Alone?

Your not alone. There is a ticket out on the problem. As already suggested. Using Good Sam forums does help. I have a fairly fast internet connection. Which also seems to help.

RE: F550 Auxillary Fuel Tank

Most of the Chevy Super C’s came a 80 gallon tank. It was mounted behind rear axle.

RE: Chevy C-5500 Kodiak Duramax potential safety issue!

Information above is good no how Hydro Boost works. On GM Medium Duty Trucks there is a difference. A electric pump is used to provide boost when power steering pumps fails or engine is not running. Here is picture showing master cylinder and pump motor. https://i.imgur.com/yoVWsG5l.jpg

RE: Chevy C-5500 Kodiak Duramax potential safety issue!

I replaced the complete tank on my 04 and friends 05. It was only $40. Not that price anymore. ACDelco 15161670 GM. Got it from Amazon. Did a quick check. Part # is good for 2003 to 2009.

RE: Chevy C-5500 Kodiak Duramax potential safety issue!

I had the same condition with my 2004 MH. Only difference was engine shut off after after I came to a stop. It happened on a busy exit ramp. I took a wire and shorted out connector to antifreeze tank level sensor to get engine running again. As far as I know the brakes worked OK. Hydroboost should have kept brakes working as normal.Test it by pressing on brake pedal without engine running.

Still have it 15 years now......just can't ever figure out how to post a dang photo! As already posted. "Click Here" for a direct link to posting your pictures. Much easier to do on a PC with mouse. But works with my iPad also.
