I really don't know about Ca but was the tree yours or your neighbors ? Was it dead or a healthy living tree. If it was a dead tree on your neighbors property then they are liable but if live it's an Act of GOD. My Daughter went thru a similar tree problem last year

RE: B&W Companion hitch removal
I used a homemade lift eye that I used my tractors loader to set in & out. I had the 18k Patriot which I could get the sections out by hand but I'm 74 so why not use the machines I have. I use this same rig to get my AirSafe hitch in/out & I won't attempt to load it by hand.

Because I thought sayoung might have some first hand experience.
Every vent & skylight were replaced before they sprayed the roof. If I should need a new part I'll just go back & get them to replace and re spray the edges of what ever needs replacing.
I just don't worry much about what might happen to my rv. If it happens it happens.

We have had RV FLEXARMOR put on 2 yrs ago. IMO it's the only way for a rv roof. I used DFW RV Roofs in Denton Tx do ours. It must be done in thier shop as it's a special spray application. .
It's not cheap but I'm glad I did. Lifetime transferable warranty which I've never seen another rv roof product with that kind of warranty.
RVarmor and RV FLEXARMOR are two very different products.

RE: Question for TEXANS- Class A non CDL
I don't have the current Texas Commercial handbook handy so in 2012 when I got my A non-CDL you had to go to that book & read the " Exceptions to the Exemptions " page to see what license was needed for rigs with GVWR over 26001 lbs or heavy trailers.
I think why so many RV'rs here don't have the correct license as the C hand book states RV's don't need a special license but as I said the CDL book spells it out.
Not an rv but a friend was towing his 36 ft gooseneck dovetail loaded with metal building material with his F450 on US 59 near Texarkana & he got stopped. Trooper made him drop trailer and get someone with correct license so it does get enforced occasionally

Anybody spray the roof with under armor? How much it cost and it worth it?
RVFlexarmour. I had ours done at RVRoofs of Dallas . Their shop is actually just off I35 in Denton. It's a spray process that must be done in thier controlled environment. Adds about 3/16 to a 1/4 thicck coating. All vents, fans ,& skylights replaced. AC's are removed so entire roof sprayed and they spray over the front cap seam about 8 inchs.
I think it's the best way of all the good ways to do a roof.

There's nothing wrong with Fasco motors. They're very popular in the HVAC trade as replacement motors...
Fiasco is a motor I had very few problems with when I was I was working. Seems like Fasco was the only double shaft aftermarket motor any of my suppliers carried.
I used a Fasco on my 10 yr old Coleman 2 years ago. I allways replaced the run capacitor when installing new motor

My late MiL used to say " getting old ain't for sissys " .
We retired 7 years ago thankfully and all our married life did things together as now my DW has been struggling with Parkinson's for over 10 yrs & last year add AFIB to the mix. I just suffer from stage 3 hardheadedness & woreout knee. Take time to enjoy your life . You don't have to take long trips or expensive outings , just do something that you both find enjoyable.
We haven't done any travel since last April because we sold our house in June & are fulltimeing on our acerage building a house that is going way slower than expected..
IMHO, the rise in cancers etc are linked to our processed/preservative laced foods, air pollution especially in our homes, stress especially work related. I can remember when stores actually closed on Sunday & business closed at 5 pm weekdays & didn't have ansering machines on the phones

I had ours done a few years back after getting too close to our pecan tree. DFW RVroofs in Denton Tx did the roof. Cost was actually cheaper than our local dealer wanted for OEM type roof.
Price included new vents, skylight, & vent fans. All seams sprayed over and when I picked it up they told me to " stay off the roof ".
I would not hesitate to do this again if we ever replace this rv. Also the warranty transfers if you should ever sell

We stayed at Pedernales Falls state park. Loved it! Highly recommended.
Wonderful park. If wadding or kayaking allways keep a watchful eye on the weather as a big thunderstorm up yiver swells the Perdanales really quick.

Bluewater is fine - not a lot around it south of Galveston, its a newer property but at least $52 per night based on weekly rates its a far cry from boon-docking.
Its about 30 miles south of Galveston.
We stay at Bluewaterrv whenever we go to Freeport. Allways book a canal side lot so we can put out crab traps.
Yes it's a little pricey but it's well maintained, planned activities if your into social events.
If your more the boondocker then lots of Beach entry points and we see lots of Beach campers but they are pretty spread out

It's amazing how States make a simple question so hard to get the correct answer. In my State you have to read past the 1st page of the CDL handbook, no mention in non CDL handbook. Page one says personal RVs are exempt , just need a regular Class C. The GOTCHA is a few pages in , " Exceptions to the Excemptions " and only here does it explain the requirement for a non-CDL class A or B for driving /towing over 26001 lbs.
Why do States confuse the question ? I have the Tx non-CDL classA and have only know of one person who posted a rant on Jayco forums a few years back about getting a ticket for incorrect license . I would bet over half the heavy RV's are driven useing the standard DL issued by States that require the heavier class of DL.

I also have an Andersen. I have seen on these and other pages anecdotal accounts of issues with it, but have never seen a picture to show what exactly is going on. Except for one that I recall which is shown over and over again to illustrate the many problems with the Andersen.
If you or anyone else can post some shots, I would love to see them.
I have travelled thousands of miles pulling a 14,000 lb trailer over some pretty rough roads and have no issues at all.
Please post what you have.
Some say that because it is aluminum, it is not all that strong and must be dangerous. Seems like it can be used structurally in aircraft, and also as the outer skin which is only 2-3 mm thick. I imagine it would be scary for some people if they knew that 2mm of aluminum was the only thing between them and certain death while travelling over 500 mph and 30,000 feet in the air. And then slamming down onto a runway in a 300 ton aircraft at 180 mph.
Gives me the shivers.
No issues with the Andersen after those thousands of miles, and no issues with flying after those hundreds of thousands of miles.

Do a search as I've posted my pics a couple times. I don't have my computer set up now as we are living in our 5er while building a new house.
As to aircraft structure , the skin, spars , bulkheads do wear . I've spent a lot of $ keeping planes flying so have some experience as well as Andersen time. The original AUH used lighter tubeing than later versions along with adding some reinforcement .
I am and will continue to be very unhappy with that hitch. Friends don't let friends use an AUH, imho.

Now that I have an Airsafe air ride hitch, I have no inclination to ever use any other style & the Trailer savers are excellent .
As for an Andersen, I am a former user. I've bent 2 and will not ride in a truck towing with one of the aluminum ones. The steel version which attaches to standard rails is maybe ok

We get on 412 at Fayetteville/Springdale towing our 5er only to Hwy 21 east of Huntsville . We do drive 412 on past Harrison and I see no problems if I was towing.

If you found an AC tech who was good there'd be no problem for them cutting out the compressor, adding in valves to hook their line set to, and replacing the compressor with a similar size and rating unit. The problem is that by the time you pay for the compressor and a half day of labor you're probably 80-90% of the way to a new unit.
1st , without an actual diagnosis no one knows WHY the unit doesn't cool. Yes, oil on refrigerant lines most times do indicate a refrigerant leak but we don't know . .
If the compressor is good then the unit is repairable unless you have a leak in one of the coils. I have fixed many a leaking coil but the small coils on these after you cut back fins you just lose too much capacity, imho.

I've had the Mohs procedure a few times, no biggie. They cut out some of it, check the surrounding area immediately, and remove it all, with frequent checks to make sure they get it all.
Melanoma is the bad boy, it can metastasize while the small cell skin cancer rarely does.
I'm healing up now from a spot on my nose that was cut out and a spot on my arm they lazered off. Wasn't a big deal on either one but my nose healed quick & the laser spot is slow healing.
I too have worked outdoors most of my life & this the 1st problem & Im 73. My Brother wasn't so lucky. Malenoma in 1976 & was later told he was cured. In 1999 it came back as a tumor on his intestine & he passed very quickly from the 2nd bout.
