RE: tire rim weight rating

Rating is stamped on the inside of rims. Wheel identification No where in that link does it mention weight rating unless I missed it

RE: Max Payload Question

Brochure weight for my camper is 2826 lbs. Fully loaded for camping it weighs 3960 lbs. It takes 100 lbs off my front axle. Rear axle empty, 2900 lbs. With camper, 10540 lbs. I think you meant your total weight is 10540 lbs ,not just the rear axle .

RE: Truck Registration Weight

The biggest problem is there are 50 sets of rules governing vehicle registration .

RE: TR: Utah, parks, friends and a few weeks with my wife

Thanks for taking the time to post your TR , it seems to have become a lost art of late . I envy you folks out west for how much you have available .

RE: Cab over Camper shell?

Take a look at Bundutec campers . I have heard that they will sell just a shell .

RE: Avion truck campers - Hundreds of photos

I like the removal tool from Aircraft Tool Supply Company better as it has a knurled end to prevent the rivet from spinning if it’s loose .

RE: Avion truck campers - Hundreds of photos

Gary , I used 5/32” Olympic rivets on my extensive front end repair . I also used them on my Airstream over 20 years ago and they have held up fine . I opted for the drills and rivets remover and the shaver because there where many to do . If you only have a few a dremel will do . On the doors I chose to use alum screws so they would be removable , another alternative . Dab a little caulk on the screws or rivets before installing . Vintage Trailer Supply has small quantities and tools if you need them .

RE: TCs and Covid Vaccinations

Well - there's one twist - Cancer isn't contagious. But like someone else said, anyone refusing just means I get to move up a spot in line. Attitude, gratitude, hope and believing are all very powerful. If my immune system can kill cancer I believe a virus doesn't stand a chance. That is how a vaccine works , it trains the immune system to fight a particular invasion .

You can switch to Valterra fittings at the pipe outlet if you choose they are easier to find at any RV dealer . Both brands fit standard ABS pipe . The two brands are not interchangeable as far as fittings , ie ,hose connections , caps , etc..

RE: Avion truck campers - Hundreds of photos

The 08707 has an O ring for a slip fit , that’s all that holds it on . The 08708 has a hub to glue the pipe on . I would not trust just a slip fitting in this situation.

RE: Avion truck campers - Hundreds of photos

I believe you need 08708

RE: TCs and Covid Vaccinations

I won't waste my time waiting in line for an unproven vaccine with questionable side-effects, kind of like not buying a new car in it's first production year until the kinks are worked out. I'll give it some time to prove itself before I partake. Even with the vaccine, people still have to wear masks and follow the protocols. The vaccines may not be 100 percent proven but COVID 19 is a proven killer , 389k and counting

Try your local hardware store , they usually carry a few sizes .

RE: Structural repair and replacement of rotten wood

Without at least good pictures it is only guess work to determine the extent of the damage and whether rep air or replacement is required . Although minwax hardener is a good product I am almost certain it would not work in this application and wood filler will add no structural strength to a beam .

RE: Lithium and DC-DC Charger?

This is probably a dumb question , forgive my ignorance . I have been reading about these new technology batteries , lithium and now Sio2 that can be discharged to 80 and 100 percent . How do they power equipment that requires 12v to operate like a furnace sail switch , at this state of DOD ?

RE: Truck Camper Security

You might try places that specialize in automotive security as you will likely be on 12v sometimes .

RE: Reg cab long bed vs extended cab long bed?

Anybody that has spent any time in the trucking industry will tell you that a longer wheelbase will let you have a higher GVW, without overloading the rear axles. On a straight truck that would that would only happen if the cog of the load is in front of the rear axle . Usually minimal if at all with a TC .

RE: Good greif.....

Looks like a Stable-Lift with wheels. :):) That brings up an interesting point about lifting points . I wonder if any manufacturers forbid using Stable Lift system on their TC’s .

RE: Concerns About Going Full Time

I would not even attempt to do what you are trying to do without shore power , you will have enough challenges. Even on your days upstate very few if any campgrounds are open past October. There are other marinas in the region . Start making some calls , perhaps one that is more commercial will have more facilities . Most propane dealers will supply the larger tanks when you contract with them . Good luck
