RE: Super Basic Solar Upgrade

I saw this nice mount on a sprinter where they had 2 panels stacked, and when you deploy them one slides out like a tray from under the other one. it even blocked ran at the door. But your idea of angle has merit, but affect the further south you get. hear in FL I am running Flat during the summer.

RE: Propane Generator to Gas.

The reason why small RVs don’t have gasoline engine generators is they don’t typically have gasoline storage built in. Removing 1 of 7.5 gallons propane cylinders make plenty of storage for gas can.... with triple running time. well maybe 30% longer, but not 300% longer. But Propane is a whole lot safer. conventional gasoline has an energy content of 116,090 Btus per gallon, while propane has an energy content of 84,250 Btus per gallon. As such, 1.38 gallons of propane has the same amount of energy as one gallon of conventional gasoline.

RE: Memory foam mattress

The bed area, from underneath, can’t be that well insulated, at least in our camper, but thanks for the information on turning on the furnace.?? We used to run a layer of reflectix insulation under the mattress, than a layer of something like the Aire-flow (shown above) sandwiched between insulation and mattress

RE: What's your favorite camp chair?

I have had the strongback's for 10 years. on one the material on the front corner of the seat tore out where the bottom pole sticks out forward. But I guess not bad for 10 years. I now use them in my garage and I notice I keep sliding forward in them. But they are comfortable chairs. back when I got them they had a life time warranty from LLBean. they offered to replace it but it lasted 10 years, I think free replacement would be excessive.

RE: Torklift Ram Dually adapter kit #A7004 help!

I did not need it on my 2015 or 18. I could run the rear tiedown pushed in so pin went through inside hole, or pulled out with pin through outside hole. but I always used the outside hole to keep the fastguns further away from body if camper moved. Plus I used to have pipe isolation on the rear tie downs so they did not hit my body when I went to remove them.

RE: How inconvenient is a cargo trailer?

I ran with one. in fact I have a 7x14 dual axle and a 5x8 single axle. I used to carry a motorcycle in it. The dual axle is easier to backup. the 7x14 is taller and I don't bang my head inside it. the 7/14 has a ramp tailgate. we can use the 7/14 as a covered patio on rainy days. it is nice to have the space for moving stuff enclosed in the trailer. I also ran 2 backup cameras, one on roof of Truck camper, one on roof of trailer.

RE: Do you drink.......

I sanitize my tanks every spring, and even chlorinate water that gets put into the tanks (stops it from smelling later). I will use my tank water for cooking, cleaning, bathing, toilet etc but we use bottled water for drinking/teeth. I guess my fear is not knowing the source of the water going INTO my tanks. but even at home we drink bottled water in 5 gallon jugs in a cooler. now in my RV that used to set on a permanent lot, even though I delivered (chlorinated) water to it myself I still did not drink it. Plus it took too much water to sanitize the tanks every spring.

RE: Black spots on ceiling = leak?

but if you have not caulked the roof in a couple years, it is leaking somewhere, maybe not causing what your seeing, but I bet it is leaking somewhere.

RE: Built in quiet inverter generator for truck camper?

When I was in dealer 8 months ago they had one sitting on the floor in the service waiting area. I don't recall the name as it was not a name I heard before. But it was a replacement, builtin inverter generator. I also recall it seemed expensive but don't recall the price. quick search on internet shows Dometic makes a TEC29 but it is 230v (some countries use 230 instead of 110. This is not what what I saw at dealer. But a quick call to them might provide the answer. They are listed as Lazy Days Ocala or "the villages"

RE: Spring adhesive for rubber?

the ones I pointed out are not as tall as torque lift. and they have holes in the middle of them so they squish some when loaded, sort of acts like a cushion for when the bump stop kicks in. on my 6 ram they had a little big of clearance on an empty truck, but but any load on it and they started to kick in. in fact here is a picture of the rear, unloaded. NOTE this pictures is one that was 10 years old, with 60,000 miles on it. http://pic.towpro.us/albums/userpics/10002/normal_bumper.jpg
