RE: Walmart has new auto battery maker

So you now have a 750CCA battery paired with a 850CCA battery? Sure sounds like a problem to me. Maybe you can get away with it in AZ. but I sure wouldn't want to try it anyplace that gets cold. Yeah. I considered that but I will able to monitor them on local driving until summer, when I will replace both. about 70 degrees today. The 750 was free and available today. The old one had a dead cell. And the remaining 850 is probably about a 750 by now. We'll see. And FWIW, the new battery was made in S. Korea, while the one year old one says it was distributed by Clarios and I don't see country of origin. That all indicates a new manufacturer vs a name change. But I just posted what I was told by Walmart manager in automotive.

RE: Walmart has new auto battery maker

As Retired JSO indicated, same company, new name. Maybe but the case is completely different and is sealed vs capped.

Walmart has new auto battery maker

I have used their Maxx batteries for the good warranty and adequate quality for years. Just went in to replace one of my truck batteries under warranty (GP 65, 850 CCA) and they gave me a 750 replacement. Told me they had dropped Johnson Controls and 850 would no longer be available. I had never heard of the new company, which doesn't mean they are not good. Just FWIW.

RE: Vancouver Island

I have long wanted to spend a month or so over there. We have visited the Olympic peninsula often, but the ferry cost over and back from Port Angeles just didn't make sense for our 45 feet of truck and trailer. We are both 86 and spent last summer in Colorado, Oregon coast and a month on Whidbey island. We and our rig will probably do one more shorter Colorado trip in 2022 and then reluctantly acknowledge our limitations. Enjoy it while you can. Bill

RE: RVs over 10 years old are valueless

I stayed at a nice county park near Wenatchee this summer that had a 20 year old rule. My 2001 Mobile Scout was just over but it is clean and no problem. Manager said they were "just making sure the place didn't turn into Seattle".

Coleman Triton stove sucks! Replacement?

About 15 years ago I bought a Coleman 2 burner high output camp stove and loved it. Super BTUs and excellent controls from simmer to blast. It developed a leak so I tossed it and bought a new one 2 years ago. Terrible temperature control and it is inconsistent. Sometime I get lots of heat and other times I can't fry fish. I see online reviews also complaining of the poor control but no mention of inconsistency. Anyway, it is going to the landfill. I would be happy with a good single burner unit with high BTUs and adjustable to simmer when needed. I never have more than one item going. Usually just things DW doesn't want cooked inside. Thanks, bill
