Ford owner installed trailer camera

There are apparently two models of this. One is camera only and the other is camera with TPMS. Does anyone have either model installed on their Ford. We have a 2018 with sync3. I am wondering whether the tire pressure system is worth the price tag!?!

RE: Glowsteps questions

Was able to install Torklift landing gear to my existing steps. They are exactly GlowSteps minus the glow strips and they have two treads instead of three. The hardest part was getting the washers inside and outside the brackets.

RE: Carrying a Honda 2000i inside generator compartment

Thanks folks. Don't want front hitch mount because we use ferries and added length equals added cost. The gen compartment is prepped for an Onan. We need propane for heat (Alaska) so don't want it used for penny. Looks like I am not the only one who had this thought. It's a go!

Carrying a Honda 2000i inside generator compartment

https://www.amazon.com/MORryde-SP60-041-Sliding-Battery-Tray/dp/B007HRQBRU Thinking about using this tray to put our Honda on. It would make it so that I could pull out the tray, plug in the genny and go. It is a bear for me to carry from backseat to ground (physical disabilities and female upper body combined). Thoughts? Rated for 250#. Was thinking I would put a thin rubber pad on bottom to absorb noise and keep genny from “walking” in the tray. It would pull out from generator compartment and exhaust away from camper, because of orientation in tray. Would need to take care mounting solidly because stress would be on mounts. Anything else I am missing? Oh, mounting in Bigfoot 2500 10.6

RE: Bigfoot 25C10.6E door strut size

Thanks so much everyone! We just got ANOTHER 8” of snow. This makes ordering parts for eventual replacement much easier.

Fantastic Fan fuse problem.

Fuse is good, problem is the knob that holds it pops out very easily. Have tried twisting it in, and boom, someone touches it by mistake and it falls out. Gonna paint the knob a different color, so we don’t mistake it anymore. First unit with a FF.

RE: Bigfoot 25C10.6E door strut size

Have emailed Grant about two issues in last two weeks. Nothing, which is unusual. Thinking Covid has them gone. Top strut only.

Bigfoot 25C10.6E door strut size

My door strut won’t strut anymore (haha, won’t hold open the door at all). I need to replace it, but need to know the strut number. Unfortunately, camper is currently buried under four feet of snow. Does anyone happen to know the strut number on theirs, or could you look? I cannot use a metal tie back, because there is a roof ladder in the way.

RE: Glowsteps questions

No, I was looking at GlowSteps. Shipping to Alaska and 6-steps were the cost factor. I have 6 step, aluminum scissors from Billis R.V. Equipment manufacturing. They look for all the world exactly like the Torklift GlowSteps. Same tread, double side bars, deep steps. They are discontinued now. However, because of the way they are assembled, I can easily put Torklift landing gear on them and solve half my battle. Next I will clean and silicone spray them to make them easier to deploy, then get a tie down system that I can use (ratchet tie down straps are the current runner).

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

Saw on a youtube camping channel some led motion activated lights that mount on a magnet. This way they can be moved around. Anyone know where to get them? The Youtuber didn't link where they got them/

RE: bigfoot and northern lite details on their construction

I now own a Northern Lite , at one time I owned a Real Lite had a side door and jack knife couch, and it was a four season camper it had copper shut off valves to cut the water off to the outside shower. Surprised that Northern Lite and Bigfoot neither one has a valve to cut water off to the outside shower, when it is below freezing I would think the valves on the hot and cold water side might freeze? I have a 2006 Bigfoot. First thing we did was shut water off to the outside shower. We never use it, don't want to winterize it.

RE: bigfoot and northern lite details on their construction

My 2006 Bigfoot has a shut off for the outside shower. First thing my husband did was shut it off, we never use it, don't want leaks after shutting water down and such.

Glowsteps questions

I have heard glowing reports (pun intended) of the Torklift Glowsteps. I am vacillating between ordering the Bigfoot steps systems (hefty price, but this is for safety) and new glow steps. Because I am putting them on a basement rig, I cannot use their mounting system that also locks them up (which is what drew me to them in the first place). We currently have scissor steps that are difficult to deploy and secure: Are these truly superior and more safe with the add on feet? I don't want to pay $700 and find myself in the same boat. I am unable to put the current bungee around them (arthritis weak hands), would a racket strap work well? Anyone have a different set up that works well and is less strength intensive? We do not want to take them off and put them on. Our current steps are secured to the truck camper with bolt system. Glow portion doesn't matter to me, as we live in Alaska, however secure tread does. Our current steps have a deep grooved pattern in them that really helps. Glowsteps? I cannot seem to find close up pictures of them anywhere to see if the tread will work for us.

RE: Install new cab over curtain in a Bigfoot TC, HOW?

Bigfoot has ducting in cabover, so airflow not a problem. “Mouse fur” on ceiling, so Velcro won’t work unless curtain is exceedingly light. Yes, attempting to cross spam entering the cabover in my Truck camper. Problem isn’t finding track or way to hang a curtain, but how to mount to ceiling, as it is a fiberglass shell. I don’t know what I am screwing into (insulation, wood) or the depth I have to use.

Install new cab over curtain in a Bigfoot TC, HOW?

I have a 2006 Bigfoot 25c10.6e TC. It came to us without a cab over curtain. Since we live in Alaska and camp in the midnight sun, we would like a curtain to cover Cabover end to block light. There is no track, so we obviously need to begin from scratch. Not sure what track to use, what size screws (if I can indeed use screws), etc. Anyone have pictures of one Bigfoot installed? Anyone know of a track system that would work and method of install? Appreciate any help.

RE: Mattress Size & Thickness Recommendations (Bigfoot 2500)

I just went through all of this. Bigfoot is definitely a queen short. Our original was 6” deep. We have cabinets to open at the foot of the bed, so we went 6” again of bed in a box memory foam. Still have room for thicker bedding (in Alaska, so that is a must). Enjoy!
