RE: Moving fridge thermistor up = warmer??

Now if I pull the thermistor completely off the cooling fins, shouldnt I see fridge temp get very low before it cycles off and allows temps to rise?

Moving fridge thermistor up = warmer??

Came across this link where the guy explains how moving the thermistor higher on the cooling fins actually creates a warmer fridge temperature. Which is the opposite of what the little sticker inside the fridge directs us to do. If you read the 1 comment there is a reply that explains his reasoning. Second question if i unplug the thermistor from the back of the fridge will that make it cool 24/7? I accidentally turned my fridge off yesterday and didnt catch it till this morning. Got to 60F in there darn it. Its down to 45F now and leveled off for a couple hours. I pulled the thermistor completely off the fins. Any advice on that topic is appreciated as well. https://rvrefrigeratorrepair.com/uncategorized/the-thermistor-shuffle/#:~:text=You%20may%20have%20been%20advised,food%20compartment%20of%20your%20refrigerator.&text=By%20moving%20the%20thermistor%20from,%E2%80%9Ctricking%E2%80%9D%20the%20control%20board.

RE: Most dont sanitize water heater?

On the back of the jetski there is a neat little water heater flush if anyone has meant to get one. Its possible to build for $1 if you get lucky and find the $1 nozzle at the 99c store. It has hose bib threads on the outlet. I would buy 5 more but my local 99c stopped carrying them. Moved to a plastic nozzle that is no good. I think home depot has something similar for like 5 bucks. The hose is from a clothes washing machine. If you or a neighbor ever replaces their washing machine ask for 1 of the hoses. The install guys wont reuse the old hose and will be trash. Thats not bad is it? Say the hose is not drinkable safe. At least its only a small amount of water left at the bottom of the tank. I cant believe the amount of white flakes after about a year im guessing since i flushed last. Probably leave the heater dry after the sanitize. https://i.imgur.com/a2XSu7Al.jpg

Sweet thanks will run the mixture through the heater.

Most dont sanitize water heater?

Sorry I realize this is talked about often. Was about to sanitize my fresh tank this morning and for some reason I think I remember people saying they bypass the water heater? I have the brand that uses the anode rod.

RE: Garbage disposal?

High five to being lazy!! Im more of a slob. Party all night. Make a bunch of late night food. Worry about dishes the next day. Im spoiled in the sense that i take them outside and blast off the dried food with a garden hose. Then bring into the trailer for a soap wash.

RE: Garbage disposal?

I havnt (sic) read a convincing argument towards no. Personally, I thought the argument about lack of water flow and small drain lines clogging up with the ground up food was pretty convincing. I also thought the increased water usage requiring nearly daily dumping was pretty convincing too. But, that's just me.None of those examples are valid to me. We all agree youre not gonna dump food down the drain on purpose right? It would be to grind up anything that slips passed. Water Flow? Thats silly. Fill up the sink and crank the GD when you pull the drain. Water Usage? Im going to fill the sink anyway. Plus dont the majority of folks here camp with full hookups? Drain Pipe Size? Lets pretend a piece of food slips down the drain. How would chopping it into smaller pieces be worse for the pipe? Again youre not dumping a pound of leftover pasta down the drain in your RV. Overall the more i think about it the more i would rather have a grey tank flush than a garbage disposal. If the whole goal is to have a clean and odor free grey tank.

RE: Garbage disposal?

I havnt read a convincing argument towards no. Ive also thought about installing one. Well mostly ive thought about how i dislike when food gets passed my strainer. I wipe dishes down but things still happen. It would be sweet to fire up a GD real quick. Grind it up in hopes it will exit the tank easier being smaller and lighter. Wouldnt mind a grey tank flush instead of a GD. I got to think heavier food particles get trapped similar to what we see happen in the black tank.

RE: Camco water filter

Generally speaking lets say its 80F and normal humidity. (whatever that is) How many weeks can a used filter sit there wet? If you have a 10" filter, is it best to remove it and let it air dry? Asking here because you guys above seem to be pretty knowledgeable. I had the blue filters for awhile and now have a 10" housing. I did not read the fine print, but the filter is rated in months. Is there a little asterisk i missed and they give an estimation of how many gallons per month?

RE: Electrolysis

Reminds me of noalox. I came across a good amount of aluminum wiring in houses around san diego.

RE: Portable generators with auto start capability.

Could you call someone to start the generator for you? If there is wifi near your trailer you could install a temp monitoring system. It can alert your cell phone to a rise in temp and then you could ask someone to go start the genny. Its also nice to monitor fridge temps.

RE: Forgot the battery??????

I love manuals. Was reading the manual for a 1991 kawi jet ski recently and it was funny. They kinda made jokes in spots!! Was a trip to read.

RE: Most expensive camp chair!

Maybe its extra super comfortable like an overpriced computer chair. Would be fun to sit in just for kicks if you happened to see one on display at a camping store like Bass Pro.

RE: Arizona and AC

We camp in that type of heat. A fan inside the trailer really helps. ALso you cant play catch up. Crank that sucker early in the morning. Open cabinets because they are giant heat sinks. Ive seen a video about modifying the a/c cover. On the back are vents but they are restrictive. Some people cut them to allow more airflow. On my friends 2001 toyhauler the back of the a/c cover is completely open. Could be damaged in hail. I guess thats how that particular model was made back then.

RE: Drier sheets, magic Eraser and glass

Magic eraser works great on glass. When i watch auto detailing videos the guys say the foam acts like 4000 grit sandpaper. There is no special cleaning chemical inside. The water is just for lubrication. You can use a spray cleaner instead of water.

RE: 6v vs 12v

I think you will need an extra battery cable. Might want to order one before removing the other batteries. Assuming they're installed and working.

RE: Battery Life?

I would check the trailer for a newly developed power draw before you buy new batteries. If they are not holding a charge overnight, maybe its because something new is sucking them down.

RE: Improving Fridge Cooling

If you put a small fan inside the fridge to blow on the fins where is the ideal location? Is it bad to blow directly onto the temp sensor?
