I've had a JBL Charge 3 for just over 6 months, and like it. Admittedly, I didn't do much shopping around, as it was included with my cell phone renewal.

JBL products,(bunch of different sizes) sound very good for the price. IMO sound as good as Bose, but less expensive, and better than many other brands out there. Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon carries them. Walmart and Best Buy usually have them on display in store so you can hear them. Should be able to compare side by side to Bose at Best Buy.

I opted for the LOGITECH UE Boom 2. It consistently rated higher for
sound quality than BOSE in most reviews I read.Found it on sale at Target for 99.00.Up against my daughter's BOSE mini it wins hands down, in my opinion.

I have the Bose mini.

[emoticon] To the uneducated, this may be true. BOSE- older 901s, etc. are good speakers, but in the audiophile world, they are pretty much a joke. I had the complete BOSE surround sound system- 7 speakers and their "subwoofer"- which they call some kind of bass module- and after about a year traded it in for a Polk Audio system. All the difference in the world. Over-priced, and the old saying still goes: No highs, no lows, must be BOSE.

By the way- my brother-in-law is the Chief Engineer at Capitol Records in Hollywood- you know the place. And all they use in their studios- and we're talking from the Beatles to nowadays- are JBLs.

UE MegaBoom is a terrific sounding wireless BT speaker. Have one and use it all the time outside.

JBL speakers sound great and last quite a while, I have had mine for a couple years and it still holds a good charge. It uses and mini USB connection to either a car charger of USB port on a stereo to charge. We just download music from Amazon Prime Music or Apple music so we don't have to use data. Great for boondocking where there no cell service.
