My 95 Lance is original and love it, take care of them and they take care of you. Replaced WH, controller, and just maintain it. I off road so it gets used. Along with my 01 DM GMC. Now that's a old set up by standards on this forum. There far and few but as they say "oldie but goody"

I think I would rather spend good money for a used Bigfoot, Northern Lite, Alaskan, etc., than a mid or low level used camper.
I've been very happy with my 10 year old Bigfoot.(Bought for less than $20,000, which wasn't cheap by any means.)

My stuff is old also, 03 2500HD with 137K miles and an 06 Lance, I have no need to step up at this time and get the latest and greatest.

Everything I own is old. 2005 Cedar Creek, 2007 Dodge Ram, and a 2007 Suzuki. All still run good, look good, so at my age I see no reason to change.

OLD? that's all like new to me, wife's car is newer, but of course have to keep her happy!!!

Thanks for all the replies. I guess buying an older camper isn't that crazy. Thanks again

Our first RV was 20+ years old.
I see no inherent problem with having an older rig.

All I have ever done with pickup campers, is buy used. For the most part in this area, it is pretty clear right off the bat what kind of shape it's in..I have had way better luck with used truck campers than used travel trailers for some reason...Probably because of the hidden cracks that are produced in the bending and twisting a travel trailer does compared to the more stable truck camper.

My last two Lances have been excellent, never a problem with anything and both were in there 90's..I just prefer the Lance...

I bought the 1996 Bigfoot in my signature 3-1/2 years ago. Had to replace the plastic cover over the reefer vent because it came out on the losing end of a battle with a tree branch but other than that it has been faultless.

I have 2 campers - both manufactured in 2001.
One come from wet state and regardless aluminium skeleton, I had to rebuild whole front and reinforce dryrot on the rear.
The other one spend its life in Arizona and the only issue was lack of caulking along slide awning, where water via screw holes enter the wood and that had to be replaced.
That beside some engineering weak points, that had to be reinforced.
Both campers are pretty clean and interior is holding way better than exterior.
I think they are good for another 20 years. The only issue are exterior decals fading on sun, but if you like the camper, the wrapping technology is amazing.

Mine is a 1976 Amerigo. Don’t buy or decide dependent on age... but condition.
