We have a small TT with an oven we never use and a regular microwave. We would like to remove both the range/oven and microwave and replace with a microwave/convection in the spot where the range/oven were originally. The plan is to replace the stove top with a portable 2 burner induction cooktop. Any ideas, comments, advice ???

Hi,

How will you power the induction cookers (I love mine btw)?

Generator? Inverter?

You will need two different 15 amp circuits for the induction cookers.

It may lower any resale value on the RV.

Regina, Hi ! I had a single induction top in our Montana...loved it. That being said, also had a microwave/convection as well. Now in the tiny camper the oven is for storage and the microwave rarely gets used. We are going on an extended stay at a Wildlife refuge in the winter and really want the convenience of the combination.

A lot would depend on your woodworking skills and how you want it to look. The area under the stove is unfinished. You will also have to contend with the space left in the top.
I would make the hole into a finished recess with a bottom strong enough to hold the appliance with a way to keep it from moving. I would also make a new countertop. Then I would utilize any open space remaining with storage for trays, etc. and/or drawers.
Good luck.

Kip...one of our biggest concerns is wiring for the convection/microwave unit and any necessary venting. We have a plan for finishing off the counter top also for finishing off the cabinet holding the original microwave unit. the switches and all of the control panel are on the end of that cabinet by the entry door so it pretty much has to stay. You should be able to tie into a 15 amp circuit somewhere in the lower cabinetry. If not, you maybe able to extend the microwave outlet down the wall with wiremold.
Venting for the new oven would depend on the manufacturer’s requirements, which I would check before doing anything.
