Just finished a 90 day 11,700 mile jaunt across USA in our Micro Minnie 2106FBS which performed magnificently. I am so pleased with it. She, is a perfect match for our travels. (OOPS! was that sexist?) There is one thing I am trying to figure out. Why do my gray & black sensors never seem to indicate E when drained or hooked up to the camp sewer. Called my dealer and didn't get much help. Was told to get some Level Gauge Cleaner when I got home. I looked it up on Amazon and of course it's not cheap but more importantly the reviews are mediocre at best. Some suggested they had better luck with, as usual, Dawn or PineSol. Can any one shed some light on this "problem" The only thing that goes into the Black are #1's and any paper associated with #1's goes into a bag NOT the tank. The only thing that goes into the Gray is water with either Dawn in it or toothpaste residual. Over the 90 days we probably took no more than 2-3 showers each in the unit. The unit is always leveled. So what gives. Thanks, PIC

No holding tank sensor or sensor cleaner works well IMO. And I've never had an issue with TP or poop in the black tank. Heck, I never use a public toilet when on a camp outing. I do almost fill the black tank before dumping however.

Waste tank level sensors are an evil minded engineers idea of a good time.

They are notoriously inaccurate, unreliable and after all the trouble one goes thru to clean them they fail again next time.

*Don't leave dump valves Open
*Wait to dump tanks until almost full
*Use plenty of water
*Add some water back to tanks after dumping so bottom stays wet, can slosh around when driving and won't allow anything in tank to stick/dry out
*Buy a CLEAR sewer adapter so you can see that tanks are dumping properly
*Don't OCD over tank cleanliness....just going to get '****' in them again
Just dump/rinse----repeat as needed

TP, Poop, Pee....all can go into tank and will come back out
No 'wet wipes'
Wipe pots/pans/plates of food/grease--oil

The RV is JUST like your house....except on wheels.
Not alot different.

Is it time for your medication or mine?

Typical. Sensors are basically useless JUNK!
If you want to clean out your black tank, look up GEO method online and folow it.
Basically it ammounts to 7lb bag of crushed ice, a cup of Dawn dish soap, a Cup of Calgon water softener. Fill the tank with water and go for a drive. Minus the oce you can do the same thing for the gray tank with mixed results. Even this method will only last a short time.

Sensors are always wrong. When the kitchen sink or tub won't drain it is time to dump the gray. When the black water reaches the bottom of the toilet down pipe it is time to dump the black.

Yup, most accurate sensors in the world, they never lie.

I use one of these wands, and have never had an issue with my gauges.

tank gauges or monitor are so inaccurate that some manufacturers are going to external gauges. that is the gauges are mounted on the out side of the tank

I agree with Old Guy. Get a sensor that mounts to the outside of the tank. We use SeeLevel.

I'm with Dennis12 - I use a home made toilet wand and can always get the black tank to read empty. Even though I have a built-in tank rinser I get a lot more "stuff" out when using the wand.
