But, now they're telling us that we need to be prepared to "hunker down". Does this mean we should've been the ones emptying out the shelves?
Zero NASCAR racing on an empty stomach is no fun. That's the reason I stocked up on sardines and crackers, plus beans and rice and ingredients for making tortillas, plus Dos Equis and Beringers White Zin.

A short term shortage in Australia hit social media, and the panic buying started.


Scott (one of the companies making RV rated TP not that you need RV rated) makes one "Model" of TP that has no center roll. Forget what it is called but there is no center roll. Just TP. 100% TP. nothing to go in the trash can when the roll runs out.

My wife went to the feed store to get our weekly supply of sheep feed; our order did not come in. The suppler said people are hoarding sheep feed!

No meat in the grocery store; our freezer is full of lamb, beef, and chicken.
No eggs; our hens make more everyday.
No milk; the cows at the creamery down the road make more 2x every day.
We’re good on TP and dog food.
We drink our well water.

Hopefully the grocery store had frozen veggies, pasta, tomato sauce and paste.

There have been very few people in KC that tested positive. People in the rest of the state are hording despite having no know cases. It looked like a plague of Locust had went through the store. I blame the constant news coverage for creating this panic.

Went to the store to get frozen broccoli and the cases were cleaned out except the veggies no one likes were plentiful.

God forbid if we had a real crisis, probably the frozen lima beans would be sold out as well.

The problem now is the people who conscientiously try to not hoard will start to run low on things including TP. Then they will have to go out and compete with the hoarders to get what they need.

Went to our local store for milk today,98% stocked. A little low on pasta. Isle filled with tp,shelf has clorox wipes and hand sanitizer.

Now the local walmart....pretty well trashed.

That's where we are at. We did our regular weekly shopping trip yesterday (Monday). We did a Walmart Grocery Pickup like normal and hit Sam's Club. Although the Walmart parking lot wasn't too crowded, we did have to get creative with what we bought. No chicken, ground beef was pretty non-existent, no toilet paper (except RV TP). The only eggs they had were 6 count packs.

Sam's was in a similar condition. No toilet paper and people were hoarding paper towels (sure hope they aren't using them in place of TP). No chicken, no pork except for large cuts and very little beef.

We just moved and tried to empty our freezer before moving, so we don't have much meat in the freezer, except what we were able to buy yesterday, which wasn't much. We do have enough TP for about a week to 10 days, so hopefully by then, we will be able to find some. I hope the neighbors chickens are tender, because we may have to swipe a bird or two [emoticon] (ONLY KIDDING!)

Ironically, Sam's had plenty of Seafood. I guess Seafood is a little too expensive to hoard.
