Please don't take this as trivializing what is happening in the world as it isn't, but sometimes you have to take the small victories and celebrate.

1. My copy of the Milepost is shipping today, after I received a notice it would be delayed by a week or so.
2. My A1C check has been delayed by 3 months so I can stress eat and not stress about it! (I have a home kit I will use to keep myself in line.)
3. Jesse doesn't have ringworm! Woot!

Sometimes a "good" day is based on small things.


I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be Douglas Adams

RV-less for now but our spirits are still on the open road.

Crowe, stay on top of that A1c thing. I know it can be hard and even depressing at times, but you gotta gut it out. Trust me I know. And yes it is the little things that count.


Our Phoenix Cruiser 2100, "Bob", has turned us from campers into RVers and loving it!

Over the past 3 days all sorts of trivial-in-the-big-picture-but-nevertheless-good-things happened in the -12drvr household

- Got to go for a long walk in the evenings with my darling bride;
- Granddaughter had her 8th birthday and really liked the electric keyboard we got her;
- Son, DIL, and daughter all survived the latest round of layoffs at their respective employers and are probably good for quite some time.
- Smoked what was reported to be a great brisket over the weekend....
- Sunny and 40 in Los Anchorage for a couple of days... Spring is coming!

Crowe, stay on top of that A1c thing.

I do. I keep home test kits on hand and test my sugar daily. The home test kits are considered as accurate as the lab as it's the same test.

The other day when it was pouring down rain out a radio "Net control operator" commented it was a great day.. And so it was. every day is a great day provided you wake up on the GREEN side of the Grass. even if the grass is not green today.

That day was a Great Day to stay indoors and talk on the radio.
Other days are great days to be out doing stuff.
But every day is a great day.

Ham Radio.. I still socialize with all my friends just like before. Does not matter if they are a mile away or a thousand miles away or more.. Radio still works.

I enjoy taking the Kymco scooter out for a ride on lonely county roads. We have had some very nice days to get outside. Another enjoyable thing is to take the Collies for a walk.

Today it's cold and blustery but will warm back up by Sunday. Will probably bake some almond covered cod with shrimp and vegetables for lunch and watch Escape to the country (English program) this afternoon.

At least one good thing has come out of these troubled times. The media has been so obsessed with current conditions, projections, warnings, etc there has been no room for political commercials.
Just gotta look at the positive side.

And I've noticed a lot less tv lawyer commercials too.

And our local news is showing the good side of people helping others in our time of need.
