I am an Alaskan resident. I am in AZ and am trying to read first hand reports of RV'ers crossing into Canada in order to drive back to AK. My US Senators office says they "have heard" that RV'ers are allowed to cross if they can prove they are Ak residents traveling home and are able to use their RV as their isolation location.

Can anyone substantiate these reports ? Thanks

You need to call both the US and Canadian border patrol.

Current situation since March 21, for the next 30 days.

I don't think returning home by transiting Canada is non-essential travel. It's not recreational and not tourism. You just want to drive home to Alaska.
It would help if you did not display any symptoms of the illness, when you reach Canada Customs.

I'm not a lawyer or legal aid, but I think it's pretty clear.
Good luck.

I would be surprised if it wasn’t true.

Are they allowing Canadian residents to cross the border to get home?

Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Section 6 (1).
"6.(1) Every citizen of Canada has the right to enter, remain in and leave Canada."
Although some have suggested they've changed those rules. I haven't heard of anyone being turned away. Yet.
They are deferring travel for citizens who exhibit symptoms from boarding transit (planes, ships, trains). Not sure about the status of those folks. Probably hung out to dry.

From the Canadian web site.

Yes, and there are reports of Canadians traveling from Mexico to Canada via the USA.

That could change.

It's a constitutional right, they can't change it without amending the Constitution. I don't know of any country that can deny entry to its own citizens. Getting to the border may be another issue.

Last week I saw a posting on an "Alaskan" website a person made from Fort Nelson as he was headed north. He had Alaska plates on his truck and an Alaska Driver's License. He said at the Canadian border they let him thru with no problems at all. He just told them he was headed home.
