SO this virus IS IN FACT a political virus,?? I had no idea....
and here I thought we were all in this together ??

It became political back in February when Doctors Trump and Limbaugh declared the whole thing a hoax. The press is trying to prove them wrong and there are liars on all sides.

How does one strike a "balance" about the number of people dying over the number of people losing their job? Is there a threshold or ratio you have in mind? You loosen controls to let people work, more people die. It's a sliding scale.

We as a society strike that balance all the time, weighing risk vs reward. There is a risk to waking up in the morning and we calculate that and deal with it.

When do you think businesses should reopen? What sort of criteria do you have in mind? Do we wait until zero cases? Do we wait for a potential vaccine?

Not everything with "sides" is political. There are clearly those who think we should do everything we can to save lives from the virus and there are those who think we should take less drastic action so as to save lives and livelihoods of others now and in the future.

When I saw this image the caption read "On second thought, I have nothing against the horse you rode in on." which is pretty much how I feel about the stay at home nazis.

At this point I'm not interested in saving anyone's livelihood even my own.I don't want anyone to die to protect my livelihood..
I also don't want to inadvertently kill anyone trying to maintain my livelihood
In time the virus will pass and our lives and livelihoods will return.
However those that die from the virus will not return.
The goal is to save lives period.
Understand nothing monetary compares to a life. Trying to equate bank accounts to lives is the epitome of selflessness and foolish.

Dear Mother Teresa,

After you're through giving yourself the Nobel Peace Prize I would suggest you consider this. You and I and everybody else do exactly that every day. We make decisions to engage in dangerous activities that can kill people because they give some benefit to us in other ways. Like driving a car. If you really believe the old "If is saves just one life" argument then you have to outlaw automobiles. There, you just saved over 30,000 lives per year. Now go accept your Nobel Peace Prize. The self-righteousness of some people knows no bounds.

Would you get in a car if you "knew" it was going to make you sick, or would you avoid that one? The car is a mechanical thing. This virus is a living thing. Might need a different (smarter) approach?
