If needed replacement: what type water supply line is it {PEX}, and what diameter parts and procedure is required to do so? I realize it has the crimping connection in place. Are there alternatives to this crimp connection? Is there a way to remove the crimp with out the correct removal tool?

(The red line connected to the faucet is the project)

disconnect the fitting, (turn off water first), then cut the red hose. Take it to Home Depot or Lowes, and tell them you need to replace it, and use a screw clamp instead of the crimped one. They will know what all you need , and will tell you how to use it.

THat type of crimp removes easily with a dremel.. but be very careful The "Tab" is what I'd cut off then pry it off. Try not to damage the line.

And when it comes to replacement
When the shark bites
into Pex Dear
Water leaks
Go away
When the shark bites
into pex dear
Connections rule the day

Sharkbite connections are my choce though there is another that works well too

A plastic thing you can get at a RV store (you might need a tool to slightly flare the pex.
YOu slip nut over the pex
Then slightly flare the end
Slip this plastic thimajig into it till the pex is down past the "Teeth"
hand tighten the nut (Forces teh teeth to grip the pex

Very solid

Home is where I park it.

It's 1/2" PEX and NEVER use a worm drive hose clamp on it. It will pop off.

Buy a bag of crimp collars and a crimping tool. You'll get plenty of use out of it.

I would make the transition from PEX to 3/8" supply lines with a shutoff valve.
