I’m no doctor but I am fairly smart and it seems to me that without a vaccine we will have to practice Social Distancing until there is one and that could take minimum one year more like two for broad distribution. So how do sports teams pull that off? And, frankly, how do we as RVers pull it off? There are only a handful of sports that might possibly do it namely: tennis singles, golf, and/or Nascar; all without fans in the stands, of course. Football and baseball not a chance! So tell me where my thinking is incorrect

Many teams have been isolating under directions of a team medical staff.

If everyone is 'clear', and I have no idea what that definition is today. It seems to change hourly.

Anyway if everyone is clear, and they stay only together, and with other clear teams, there is a very low likelyhood of infection.

Of course, if an infection gets into a team, maybe via a coash, trainer, etc - then the whole deal is off.

That was the Major League Baseball plan. Only team members, staff and such tested as negative, and isolated for two weeks before they begin training with each other would be allowed.

There have been a few big name sports players who tested positive.. Teams can do heavy duty testing if they need to play.. to a basically empty stadium (no profit there save the TV rights which often out-weight the stadium) however the loss of competive sports is not a great loss to many.. (Others it's their religion)

The greater loss to me is orchestras though some have found new and interesting ways to do concerts long distance... That is each musician logs into a common server from their home and so does the conductor and .. Well technically it's a tad complex but think ZOOM on Steroids and you are not far off.

As RV'ers, we can easily pull off social distancing while traveling/camping. A few weeks ago we traveled from Florida to upstate NY without coming within 6 feet of anyone at any time. Every RV park we stopped at was practicing remote check-ins of one sort or another. Most were using phone check-ins for paid reservations, sometimes with our paperwork left in the after hours check-in slots outside the office. One KOA had someone meet us in the parking lot that was masked and gloved. He escorted us to our site and then tucked our paperwork under the electrical box cover. In all cases, the public showers/bathrooms were closed. Pot lucks, happy hours, etc., had all been canceled not surprisingly. I'd really like to see the state and national park campgrounds reopen, albeit with necessary restrictions.

The answer is you can’t. Each year, the Football bowl games and playoffs all happen quite a bit after flu season starts, and yet, there are stil games. Of course, Basketball plays through the entire flu season.

Part of this is to finish understanding the nature of Covid 19. Seems to be leaning toward it doesn’t have anywhere near the mortality rate that they initially thought, so getting it is far from a death sentence.

We’ll see.

That may have something to do with the fact that there is a Flu Vaccine (yes, not 100% effective, but definitely better than nothing), the fact that the Flu is not nearly as contagious as COVID-19 and the fact that it has a much lower mortality rate than COVID-19. During the 2018-9 Flu season, the CDC estimates 35.5 million people got sick from Influenza, with 34.2k deaths. Here in the US, we don't yet have 1 million people sick from COVID-19, yet there are almost 55k deaths and it's only been about 2.5 months since the first confirmed case was diagnosed in the US.

NASCAR seems to have found a little success with televising the I Racing series on Fox. Their ratings of late have approached or equaled ratings for Xfinity Series races. They have also aired some classic races from back in the day.

Similarly, CBS has been airing some memorable PGA events. Better then nothing, but it would be nice to have the real deal again.

I've been watching some of the old basketball/football, pro and college games. I probably saw them live but its great watching the team play instead of the dancing/prancing/show boating like we have today after every play. I was a huge basketball fan but I don't do basketball anymore.

Old NASCAR races are the best. No in car camera nonsense...no crank it up crazyness from Fox/etc. Mostly two guys in the both so we had little constant chatter.
