I am interested in using a smart lock on our Fifth Wheel. Has anyone else gone this route? Or have suggestions for compatible smart locks?

For ease of entry for different people it would make sense. For security, not so much. You're putting a $200 lock on a 50 cent door.

YouTube reviews RVLock is the most popular brand, but there are a couple of alternatives. Search Amazon for RV Lock. About 99% of RV doors use an RV standard lock set that's compatible with the RVLock.

"Cheap" alternatives start around $100 and the RV lock is $150-$200. Agree with fj12ryder, great for convenience but not really any more secure.

We have RVLock's on both of our RVs. The keypads wear out pretty easy(replacements are not expensive and easy to change), however they come with a remote that will work with two rigs. So we each have a remote that is programmed to each trailer.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I understand it may not be the cheapest route to use a smart lock. My ultimate goal is to have a “Smart RV” this is just the first step. It’s not really a question about if I am going to or not. Just curious if anyone else has installed a smart lock (different then the keyless, though still keyless) and had suggestions for one that would work best, or thoughts on the installation process.

I hate wireless remotes. Too easy to misplace.
