One problem I see with the $ fine is many will say If I get caught, I can pay that. IMHO, much better would make them pay the grand, spend quarantine in a cell, pay the cost of cell and board, pay to store their rig, then escorted to nearest border.
That news story would do much to protect the rest of the world from the covidots this country grows.

Raise the fine to at least $2,000, impound the RV for 30 days and send them back to the border. After 30 days they would have to pay storage fees and arrange to have the RV delivered back home.

I'm super confused??

What happen to all of the open border people?

I thought all borders were bad and evil?

Maybe that left in 2015? Or maybe that was just coming into the US?

So there're good now?

I'm behind times and I need to catch up on this stuff! [emoticon]

There are plenty of sightseeing places in the 48. Go see what’s in your own country. Canada will open soon enough.
Are Canadians still regularly doing their shopping in the US?

They shouldn't be allowed and hopefully they are abiding by the rules.

What's not mentioned is their ability to enter Canada will now be restricted.

Under a US Canadian agreement, they can be allowed limited travel to and from Alaska but that will be at a very specific entry port, usually the shortest route from US to US. They won't be able to travel leisurely or visit Canada anymore. Knew someone who had a problem and they restricted his entry to a specific port of entry to eliminate any unnecessary travel through Canada.

When I was young people from this country went to the moon.
Now we can't go to Europe.
In fact because of the number of covidiots many can't even go to store.
There might be a difference between wanting to travel for a better life and traveling to spread disease and ignorance.

So the people that were traveling for a better life didn't have any diseases 3, 5 20 100 years ago? At all? None?

Really? [emoticon] [emoticon]

From reading, I understand US has done health screening in the past.
But right now today, most of the world has a problem with travelers from USA. At home we can hide behind "Alternative facts" and "Fake news" but to the rest of the world, facts matter.
In New Zealand, they have got new cases down to zero. The have returned to life.
Italy, new cases are down 97% from their peak.
And for this discussion Canada is down 80% from peak. Meanwhile in US the number of cases is increasing at a increasing rate. Why should a country risk all the work they have done to protect their country when have the people in US, instead of picking up their gun and fighting the invading army, we invite them in for supper, make sure they have a nice bed to spend the night.

Let's see what happens this fall if the border is still closed and the great snowbird migration is deemed illegal. Tens of thousands having to endure a long, cold winter in their homeland. Priceless.
