I bought a 2005 Arctic Fox and need to transport from Jax to Tallahassee. Have 2008 F450 but tie downs haven't arrived yet. How do you transport temporarily if you don't have real tie downs like Torklift. Will straps instead of tie downs work if I take it very easy on interstate?

I did the strap thing, when I brought home my TC, but it was a much lighter TC. From Long Island to Grand Island (Buffalo)
It was white knuckle trip, and would not recommend with a heavy TC.
Maybe with steel I beams under the frame to keep straps/chains away from sheet metal! Old time tie down systems did that, but they went away for reasons.

The guy that bought my 11', 4,000 pound TC didn't put tie downs on his truck despite me telling him he needed them. He arrived here in VA from IN with NOTHING.
I gave him 4 of my ratchet straps because he insisted that would work. He made it home to IN. I don't know how well it went.

You can put it on a trailer and use something strong like chain binders, or a lot of rachet straps. Do not endanger the lives of other people by doing something stupid and hauling a TC in an unsafe manner. Have respect for the lives of others.

Ratchet straps will work just fine to bring it home if you have some good quality ones and drive accordingly..Many a truck camper owner has done it this way for years, including myself..

1” Ratchet Straps have a breaking strength that ranges from 3,000 - 6,000 lbs depending on the webbing and hardware.

2” Ratchet Straps have a breaking strength that ranges between 6,000 - 12,000 lbs, and WLL ranging from 833 to 3,333 pounds depending on the hardware ends.

3” Ratchet Straps have a breaking strength of around 15,000 lbs and WLL of 5,400 lbs or less depending on the hardware attachments.

4” Ratchet Straps have a breaking strength of around 15,000 lbs lbs and WLL of 5,400 lbs depending of the hardware.

5 ratchet straps rub the paint.
6 ratchet straps break without warning.
