Looking for info on winterizing the water line to the ice maker in a Samsung refrigerator. There is a valve for water on & off to the fridge ice maker in the water control system or panel. Do I just open that valve when blowing out the lines and any water in the line will just blow out in the fridge ice tray? Then close the valve to keep the pink antifreeze out of the ice making process.
Also there is a water filter in the water system into the rig. Do I just remove the filter and let that container probably about a quart size just fill with the pink antifreeze while filling the water lines in the rig.
Thanks for any info... The manual from Samsung has nothing nor does the Grand Design Owners manual.

Not sure but I would assume in addition to the valve that stops water getting to the unit, there is also an internal valve as the ice maker automatically starts and stops the water flow while making ice.

You would need to find a way to open that valve.

If the valve is solenoid activated, that is has wires controlling it, then all you need to do is open that valve and the ice maker line will back drain. You do need to then let the ice maker run through a cycle to make certain it dumps any ice in process. If it is just a check valve you need to hold it open while the ice maker runs through a cycle to allow the water to back drain when the solenoid valve opens.

I would not let pink stuff into the ice maker because on the boat we had before getting back to a land-based RV the ice maker specifically said the pink RV antifreeze would ruin the plastic. Not sure if this applies.

Re the filter, I remove the cartridge, let the filter tank fill as I winterize, then take the tank off and use what is in it to dump into the drains to fill the traps. When de-winterizing I run enough water into the filter to clear any antifreeze in the line from the pump, then dump it, install the filter cartridge, then run the water as normal to flush the rest of the lines.

on the ice maker I just took the feed line off of the solenoid let some pink stuff squirt out and capped it off to finish winterizing. I figure it gets fairly cold in the freezer under normal use and didn't run antifreeze into the refer.

likely wont matter with a water line that small. My home fridge water line freezes all the time, as do all the ones similar to mine.

My ice maker shut off valve is located outside behind the frig in a small door. I remove the compression fitting downstream of the cut off valve. I allow pink stuff to flow thru the valve and shoot a little out on the ground. Then I gently blow air into the line to the frig with a cup under the water dispenser to get most of the water out of the line. Since I keep my frig on all the time that is it for me.

Remember you don't have to get the water out of the icemaker. It is used to make ice. You don't want pink stuff in your ice maker.
