I think the new Duramax would be good enough for me, as would be the Cummins.

As evidenced by the Duramax never needing to be tossed in the trash and a new blank slate engine introduced...twice!

20 year anniversary of the Duramax, 30+ with the Cummins.
The 2nd and 3rd versions of the Powdersmoke didn’t make it 10 years, collectively.

My mechanic loves GM's, but that's because they support his business.
- 2019 Grand Design 29TBS (had a Winnebago and 3x Jayco owner)
- 2016 F-150 3.5L MaxTow (had Ram 2500 CTD, Dodge Durango)
- 130W solar and 2005 Honda EU2000i twins that just won't quit

As in depth statistics of 2500 and 3500 sales and repair costs do not exist we'll never know.
Buy what you like and fix it when it breaks.

In my area I see more Ford. Used to be Chevy second then Ram (Dodge back then) a distant 3rd. Now Ram is second, Chevy third.
Another factor regarding how many of what manufacturer you might see that few people think about is.... which dealerships are closer?
There is a Ford dealership in my town, Chevy and Ram dealerships are a couple towns away.

I started my towing with a GM and it was the worst... NOW I am sure things are different now, but at that time, I was fed up... My dad had GM's and loved them, never had a problem with them either, although they were NOT used to tow, they were grocery getters and bar runners.
Fast forward 40 years, I think ALL 3 are close to the same platform and its all up to personal preference now.

My GM dealer replaced my 03 injectors for $2900. It had 145000 miles on it, but gave me the “loyalty price” because of the early failures. The Indy dealer wanted $5000
