FB is the worst thing to ever happen to our society and the world over. It’s like a bad addiction. I use it to keep in touch with old friends and coworkers and even distant family. Unfortunately, it has revealed that some are off the deep end with hatred, lies and conspiracy theories. Far worse than the firearms site I gave up on. We don’t have that here. Aside from one or two know it all’s, this is the most civil site I visit. The one or two who dominate the site discourage me from posting near as much as I used to. That the rules are strict and strictly enforced is a good thing. All good people here.

Was listening to a radio show yesterday with a technical reporter outlining how FB's algorithms actually perpetuate mis-information and often in turn results in violence. Apparently India is the largest FB user population on earth and FB is the only source of internet in some parts of the world. Yes FB runs an actual internet in some parts of the world to access FB of course with no other competing "news" outlets. Most notably Ethiopia. Detailed that their algorithms purposely delayed important governmental information and when it was finally released due to the timing and misleading content it caused riots where a lot of folks died. Researchers created test FB profiles to see what sort of information these algorithms threw at it. The test profile randomly selected news topics and was then immediately bombarded with misleading and violent information. Investigations are underway, but FB has long gone from being a people connector to a conduit to perpetuate mis-information. They claim they are simply a forum for users, but turns out their own algorithms promote negative and misleading content. I am sure it makes them more money than just old friends reuniting. The addictive portion is a whole other story also under investigation. But back on topic, I am not sure how FB is a competitor for an RV forum.
