Broken down in the right lane of I-95 South at mile marker 92 in Georgia, could not move. Total length of truck and camper is 48 feet. Called AAA, first call they said that "we have to call NC to see if your membership is valid" then they hung up. Second call, will be there at 4:45pm, it was 2:30pm. A very nice man pulled us out of the lane of traffic. 5:15pm, called AAA, no one had picked up the ticket, asked when they could tow, "Oh we can tow you to our approved repair garage," I requested a tow to a dealership 10.5 miles away, they hung up. Called back and they agreed to tow us to the dealership, it is now 6:30pm, "will be there soon." 8pm, called back, "we will be able to tow you sometime next week." It was Saturday afternoon and the individual stated, "we just can't help you!"
NO LONGER A MEMBER OF AAA, and have been totally lied to about the refund process. Lot more to the story, but space does not permit the details. THEY NEVER CALLED BACK OR PUT ME IN CONTACT WITH ANYONE WHO COULD HELP! We were abandoned.

AAA is not really set up to tow RVs. Drop them and sign Geo net or Good Sam Road Side service.

AAA sells an emergency roadside service product for RV's, and I assume they just contract out to the same RV capable towing service(s) that the other clubs use. But there's probably not a lot of RV capable tow services, so it can be a long wait.

Each state's AAA is independently owned so service varies widely among states.

Although I have it and never used it AAA NC does have RV towing. I have Coach Net and the 2 times I have used it were flawless.

You just gave 2 big reasons why AAA is a POOR choice for RV owners. I have had Good Sam emergency road service and never had a bad experience getting emergency roadside service!!!!

AAA in most all areas uses contractors.. The very same contractors in many cases Coach Net uses. However CoachNet is often faster as they may well have more contractors and pay them better. AAA towing does not pay the contractors as much as many companies do and this results in longer wait times.

Your best option is a good Credit Card and a reimbursement policy (Towing rider on your vehicle insurance) but that is not always possible.

I know nationwide got me the towing check fast enough that "Pay off by end of month" applied...

Of course the adjuster apologized for laughing as he read my carefully worded to get exactly that response E-mail claim filing.... (I told him no problem, in fact thanks that was what I was aiming for) one towing claim.

Not saying it helped.. but for sure it did not hurt. to make the adjuster laugh.

Sorry but after hearing this on the forum I switched from GS to CN.
Coach Net sucks. Stranded hugging the white break down lane line for over 8 hours.

Mike: Never was stood up by Coach-net, but was denied service from GS years ago on RT. 95. Would not tow me off highway or advise even where I could get replacement tire. Stranded for entire week-end.
