Starting next year. Although fun don't shoot the messenger for this PSA.

I have done a lot of fishing and RV plus truck camping in Oregon on my veterans discount and plan to do more next year.

I will just stay in Montana, thank you very much. But then, we don't travel long distances much anymore anyway.

Oregon State Parks are among the best in the country. Like NamMedevac70, I also enjoy the benefit of the disabled veterans camping program, even though I am not an Oregon resident. 10 days a month free camping is hard to beat. Those with service connected disabilities should look into this. Thank you Oregon.

Many states charge a premium for non resident camping.

And in the Stanislaus National Forest ( Tuolumne & Calaveras Counties ) camping fees are just about doubling; but, I don’t believe that they are gonna be doubling their “ service “ to the campers…. If’s in the same sentence they would have said “ AND WITH THESE NEW FEES WE WILL BE BUILDING ADDITIONAL CAMPGROUNDS “ then, I would have been pleased….

Would Oregon campers be unhappy at paying extra for out of state camping?

Considering residents pay income and property taxes to Oregon that fund things like parks and out of state campers do not, it seems only fair that residents should get a break.
